Tour de Pier Statement on COVID-19 coronavirus
Due to the growing concern regarding the COVID-19 Virus, Tour de Pier was notified by the City of Manhattan Beach that all special events scheduled through the end of May will be suspended. Therefore, we will be postponing the 8th Annual Tour de Pier scheduled on Sunday, May 17th. As soon as the City of Manhattan Beach will allow us to reschedule a future date, we will let you know. We truly hope, in the near future, we will all be able to Ride in Place and Move Charity Forward.
We appreciate all the support we’ve received from our riders, fundraisers, sponsors and volunteers. As you can imagine, we are deeply saddened by this announcement and the impact it will have on our three cancer charities.
We will be honoring all current registrations for a rescheduled date. If you can’t make it, we will provide you with a donation acknowledgement for your tax-deductible support of our charities. We will also continue to accept donations on the Tour de Pier website which will also count towards the next scheduled event. If you are unable to attend at a future date, we are offering an opportunity for you to request a refund of your registration fee, (minus processing fees).
Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and individuals affected by the COVID-19 Virus. For the health and safety of our community, you can learn more about the recommendations and measures taken by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) and the County of Los Angeles Public Health.
