Four years ago, my family and I lost my dad - Kenji (or many may know him as Steve) - to cancer. His absence is something we feel every day, but so is his spirit. What started as a way to honor him has grown into a beautiful annual tradition: Kenji’s Bikers riding together at the Tour de Pier.
For us, this ride isn’t just about cycling. It’s about celebrating my dad’s life, remembering the loved ones our friends and family have lost, and standing with those who are still fighting. Every year, we gather at the Manhattan Beach Strand surrounded by community, sunshine, music, and hundreds of people who care deeply about finding a cure.
This year, I’ll be riding in place once again to move charity forward at the Tour de Pier - supporting three incredible cancer organizations:The Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, Cancer Support Community South Bay, and the Uncle Kory Foundation.
If you feel called to support, there are a few meaningful ways to join us:
Donate to my fundraising efforts — every contribution truly makes a difference.
Grab a bike and ride with our team, Kenji’s Bikers, to raise funds yourself.
Come spend the day with us in Manhattan Beach — cheer, connect, and be part of a community that shows up for one another.
Whether you donate, ride, or simply join us for a day of joy and remembrance, your presence helps ensure that no one faces cancer alone.
Let’s ride in place, celebrate the people we love, and keep moving charity forward
