On Sunday, May 17, I’ll be riding in the Tour de Pier in honor and memory of my late husband, Bob Saunders. This unique event transforms the Manhattan Beach Strand into a sea of energy and hope — bringing togethers hundreds of riders to raise awareness and critical funds for cancer research, patient support and prevention programs.
Bob was deeply committed to this cause. Every year, we sponsor a team of bikes with our dear friend and cancer survivor, Karen Hunt. Even in Bob’s final days, his dedication never wavered — he attended the Tour de Pier just 15 days before his passing in September 2021, determined to support the community and cause he believed in so deeply
I continue that mission in his honor. I ride to celebrate survivors, to honor those we’ve lost, and to support those who continue to fight.
You can make an impact. Sign up to ride with our team or make a donation in support of this great cause. Together, we can fund life-changing research, inspire hope, and ensure that no one faces cancer alone.
Let’s ride in place and move charity forward.
Thank you, Diane, Ryan and Kelli Saunders
Players with fight never lose a game; they just run out of time.
Our Bobby will be watching over us
