Cancer takes a life every minute—every day. In the time it takes to breathe in and out, someone is gone. Since I first shared my story, our circle of names has grown, and so has the urgency.
For me, it began with my dad, Fred. Friday. 1:23pm. August 1998. A moment that changed everything.
Today, like so many of you, my story is no longer just mine. It’s our parents, our siblings, our spouses, our children, our closest friends. It’s the quiet strength of survivors, the courage of those in the fight right now, and the heartbreak of those we’ve lost far too soon. B-cell lymphoma took my dad—but cancer continues to take too much from too many. This year we ride with Char Partelow especially close to our hearts. Char was on our team for many years and we lost her last August. We miss her. Like all of our loved ones, gone way too soon.
And so, I ride.
I ride for Love.
I ride for Hope.
I ride for a Cure.
Please support me and our team as we ride in the 14th Annual Tour de Pier. This extraordinary event has raised millions for cancer research and support, and our Tabula Rasa Strand Cruiser team continues to show up with heart and purpose. Together, we can make a difference. Together, we can move this mission forward.
