In the words of Kobe Bryant “If you want to make history, you need to do historic things.” The year 1997 is when it all started for me. As many of you know, I lost my dad (and best friend), Ron Hirshberg, to pancreatic cancer. Without question, this was the hardest situation I have ever had to endure in my life.
In 2013, after months of preparation, the inaugural Tour de Pier was held at the iconic Manhattan Beach Pier. Since then, with the help of friends and family, we have collectively raised over $13.3 Million!
This year we are celebrating the 13th Annual Tour de Pier on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at the Manhattan Beach Pier. I truly look forward to this event each year because we come together as a community and the energy, laughter, tears, and love that is shared is utterly amazing. Having said this, I am humbly asking for YOUR support and asking you to get involved in the fight against cancer!
Over 28 years later, Agi and I are focused on the same mission - to ensure no one else is forced to endure the pain of losing a loved one to pancreatic cancer or any cancer for that matter! Our goals have grown bigger, but our mission has never wavered. We have made so much progress and yet, there is still more to be made! Please help us continue the fight.
With gratitude,
Jon
