Dear Ones,
On May 18, I'll be riding in the Tour de Pier in Manhattan Beach to create awareness and raise funds for three cancer research and support organizations: Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, the Cancer Support Community South Bay and the Uncle Kory Foundation.
I'll also be riding in support of my cousin, Frank Alioto, and his fiance, Terina Sprague (pictured above), who are adaptive athletes and who work to make this event welcoming to everyone. Over several years, Terina has built an adaptive team for this event - WE ALL RIDE - which enables adaptive athletes to participate using hand-cycles; 10 adaptive athletes participate with 10 able-bodied friends and family who cycle with the team (that's me!).
You know me, and you know that I rarely reach out to fundraise. This event and Frank and Terina's commitment to inclusivity have inspired me, and I hope they inspire you.
Thank you for your generous support!
Love,
Heather
