We are fast approaching the 13th Tour de Pier and I am so excited. Every year so many of us are touched by cancer. It is humbling to hear the stories of the amazing warriors that have gotten that awful diagnosis. Pancreatic cancer took my husband Bill from me and our three kids 12 years ago. That loss was devastating. And still is.
Not everyone has the opportunity to do something to fight back. I love riding and want everyone to know how the money raised is making a huge difference in the lives of those diagnosed.
HIrshberg's seed grant program has been in place for twenty years. The money raised at the Tour helps fund this program. Seed grant recipients have rocked the world of pancreatic cancer by advancing critical research that has reshaped understanding of the disease and promoted innovative treatment solutions. This is very exciting stuff!!! The Tour also provides patients and families with vital resources in their fight against cancer. And your donations make it possible.
Private funding is more critical now than ever. I will ride to honor Bill and help bring us closer to a cure. We need to work together to enable ground-breaking research and support to continue.
