LA Cancer Challenge 2025

Never Give Up

  • It has been almost a year since I was honored to be the Hirshberg Foundation’s Honorary Starter for its 27th Annual LA Cancer Challenge 5K Walk/Run at UCLA on October 27, 2024.

I am a 10 year survivor of stage 4 pancreatic cancer.  I was treated with 28 sessions of chemotherapy and  participated in 2 clinical trials.  I am very fortunate to have had no detectable cancer since 2016.

Since 1998, LACC participants of all ages walk or run in honor of loved ones to raise money for critical research and to fund essential patient programs. Will you support me in finding a cure for pancreatic cancer by donating or registering for the LACC?  I’m inviting you to participate in this incredible event, help change the course of this disease, and join us as we Fight to the Finish!  Every year, LACC participants and donors have helped the Hirshberg Foundation make remarkable advances in research and patient care.  Each participant and every gift, small or large, will make a difference.

Especially this year, it is important that we step up and fill the void left by Federal government funding cuts.  Pancreatic cancer does not pause because funding has paused or stopped.

Energized and hopeful, we proudly wear our purple tees, carry posters and photos of loved ones and put our efforts into finding a cure.  Will you support us in finding a cure for pancreatic cancer by donating or registering for the LACC? I invite you to join me at the LA Cancer Challenge to support pancreatic cancer research but also to be inspired by all the participants at the event. Whether you are running, walking, or cheering from the sidelines, your participation makes a difference in the fight against pancreatic cancer.

Please consider contributing towards my fundraising efforts today. Or if you'd like, you can join me, in-person or virtually, for a day of costumes and fun, remembering those we have lost and celebrating those who are currently battling this disease. Together, regardless of where we are, we can make a huge difference in the battle against pancreatic cancer.
