Hello there! I'm participating in the LA Cancer Challenge as part of team Lara's Little Birds again this year. Team Lara's Little Birds was created in loving memory of my sister-in-law, Lara Dawn Meiojas, who was taken by pancreatic cancer at the end of 2022. My wife, Allison, Lara's sister, created Lara's Little Birds when she found out about the Hirshberg Foundation and the LA Cancer Challenge a week before the event in 2023.
The team raised a significant amount of money in such a short time two years ago, that we wanted to participate last year too. Our flock was larger, and we raised more funds in year two. Now Lara's Little Birds is an annual part of the LA Cancer Challenge! The LACC helps the Hirshberg Foundation raise money to fund research and programs designed to improve patient care, offer better treatment options and ultimately find a cure for pancreatic cancer.

Joining Lara?s Little Birds means you will walk/run in-person with us at UCLA or virtually on Sunday, October 26. It?ll be a day of costumes and fun, remembering those we have lost and celebrating those who are currently battling this disease. Together, regardless of where we are, we can make a huge difference in the battle against pancreatic cancer.
