Cara Supporting Fight Like the Avery's
Since moving to California last year, one of the fast and closest friends I've made, Ellen, has helped me and our family feel a sense of care and belonging in the South Bay that I was hoping I might find in a few years, but serendipitously we found each other at our kiddos' teacher meet and greet before the start of the school year.
To unfortunately be able to relate about the many big losses we've experienced is heartbreaking, but gives us a level of knowing, understanding, and kindness that the world needs more of. Ellen spreads that every day through all the families I see her interact with.
I'm riding to support Ellen's family with Fight Like the Avery's (which I believe is part of, or has received grants from The Uncle Kory Foundation) and I hope you'll support them with a donation if you're able to.
A little bit more about the Tour de Pier: it brings hundreds of stationary cycling bikes to the iconic Manhattan Beach Strand to create awareness and raise funds for three outstanding cancer charities: Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, the Cancer Support Community South Bay and the Uncle Kory Foundation.
Please consider contributing towards my fundraising efforts today. Or if you'd like, you can join me for a day of fun at the beach, a great ride, remembering those we have lost and celebrating those who are currently battling this disease. Together we can make a huge difference so that no one faces cancer alone. Let's ride in place and move charity forward!
