My Tour de Pier Fundraising Page
On Sunday, May 19 I'll be riding in Tour de Pier, a super fun charitable event where I'll be peddling on a stationary bike on the iconic Manhattan Beach Strand to create awareness and raise critical funds for three outstanding cancer charities: Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, the Cancer Support Community South Bay and the Uncle Kory Foundation.
Cancer at some level hits close to home for all of us in a different way. On April 15, 2010, I lost my mom to ocular melanoma, metastatic to the liver. And 13+ years later, cancer came back into my life when Brent Gonzalez, "my other brother", one of the most important people in my world, lost his very short battle to colon cancer metastatic to the liver on Dec 31, 2023 leaving his fantastically strong wife Jamie and 3 little kids Hannah, Haley and Hudson. So I'm asking each of you to help with my fundraising efforts - no amount is too small. If you'd like, you can join me and Kristina OBrien for a day of fun at the beach, a great ride, remembering those we have lost and celebrating those who are currently kicking some cancer ass, and sign up to be a part of our team. Together we can make a huge difference so that no one faces cancer alone. Let's ride in place, move charity forward and make an effort to find a cure.
