Lara loved to travel - here she is in Iceland!
Hi, as many of you know, I've had a Facebook page for this event. FB extracts a small fee for donating. In case any of you become interested in donating, this new page provides a no-fee option. The money goes directly toward exciting research by the Hirshberg Foundation.
Donations via LACC fundraising has led to millions in research funding, clinical trials, nutrition studies, technological advances, and increased survival rates four years in a row!
I'm excited to walk on Team Lara's Little Birds in the upcoming L.A. Cancer Challenge. My stepdaughter & hiking partner Lara Dawn Meiojas was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in 2022. It was the honor of my life to spend time with her during her last six months. We mostly sat, conversing on all matter of the subjects just like we'd done as avid LA hikers. Sometimes we went on outings to pick up food or go to doctors or visit the local farmer's market. Despite her illness, she engaged people with a quick wit that never failed to amaze me.
Thanks to Lara's sister, Allison Michelle, I've learned that progress against PC is being made. Please have hope that this disease can, through research, become as treatable as other forms of cancer have become. If you choose to donate, it would be much appreciated. Thank you.
