Please support me in the LA Cancer Challenge in remembrance of my beloved friend Josh Osorio.
I am participating in the LA Cancer Challenge for my former coworker and friend Josh, and for others with cancer and their loved ones. The world became a different place when Josh left. He was such a light in the this life, a comfort, a genuine person, and it was an incredible privilege to know him. Until I meet you again, I will love you, I will celebrate you and I will certainly miss you. The amount you are missed is a direct reflection of all the love you brought us here.
Who better than to tell Josh’s story than himself in his first CaringBridge Post - “My name is Joshua Osorio. I'm 29 years old and on March 28 of 2019, I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I have made the decision to fight this. I am going to fight with every ounce of my being. Not only through conventional medicine, but I will also be utilizing a functional approach. Integrating the two approaches to medicine has been my wish from the beginning, and I believe that marrying the two gives me the best odds of beating this ugly disease. In my head and in my heart, I know that I can beat this. I can and I will. There is no part of me that doesn't believe that. I am filled with positivity, love, and light to the point of bursting and I have every intention of maintaining that mindset throughout this fight. What helps me keep that mindset is the endless love and support I constantly receive from those closest to me.
I have three brothers, who are very close to me, and loving parents who are doing anything and everything they can to help. I have a close inner circle of friends, most of which I have known since high school, who are at my side at the drop of a hat. In addition to this amazing foundation, I would be honored to have your support during this time as well. Feel free to use this space to check in on how I'm doing, as I will be posting journal entries, easing the delivery of information. Everyone who visits is sending love in one way or another, and that alone lifts me up. The first journal entry consists of a list of recipes for anyone who would like to contribute meals. It will periodically be reposted so that it does not get lost in pages of entries.
Thank you for any and all support. Thank you for being here. We are stronger together.”
