The event is hosted by the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research and will be held on October 27th on the UCLA campus. Proceeds of this event will be used to fund pancreatic cancer research grants.

Pancreatic cancer is a silent killer, usually going undetected until in advanced stages leaving its victims with only a few short months to live. It does not seem to be hereditary, but instead strikes people randomly.

Consider this: Fundraising for research of major illnesses is usually spearheaded by survivors of the disease. With pancreatic cancer there are few survivors. Research funding is scarce.
