Fight On Against Pancreatic Cancer
In 2008 my grandpa was not able to fight on against pancreatic cancer. One day he had back pain, and only two weeks later he was gone. What's even more devastating is that this is not an uncommon story when it comes to pancreatic cancer (it wasn't even the only similar story within our family). On average, the life expectancy following diagnosis is just 3-6 months. And that's simply not long enough. Enter the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.
For more than 10 years, I've been an avid supporter of the Hirshberg Foundation, regularly participating in their LA Cancer Challenge, donating to the cause, and helping to raise awareness. Helmed by some of the most incredible team members around, the Foundation is leading the way in cutting-edge pancreatic cancer research while providing unmatched support to patients and families. When my dad experienced a pancreatic cancer scare in early 2023, my thoughts immediately turned to Hirshberg, where I knew we could access invaluable resources and an incredible care team (knock on wood, we didn't need them).
Now, I'm strengthening my commitment to the Hirshberg Foundation, where I've been treated like family since I first started Team Wonder Woman in 2012, by rejoining the Hirshberg Training Team (HTT). On March 17, I'll be running the 2024 LA Charity Half Marathon for my second stint on HTT, and I'll be raising money along the way to help run pancreatic cancer out of town.
Please consider a donation to this hard but critical fight so more families can have longer than 3-6 months with their loved ones.
Together we can paint LA purple! Your support means so much!
