Have Fun Every Day

Jill H. Levine

Jill was born April 18, 1953 to the late Robert and Lillian Hecsh of Philadelphia. After finishing high school, she enrolled at Boston University, from which she graduated in 1975. She stayed in Boston and entered into advertising, first at Harcom, then Arnold Worldwide, and then Photoquick. In 1980, she met her future husband and they began their life together in Cambridge. She loved Harvard Square and all of its hidden treasures.

After a few years in Cambridge they moved to Preque Isle, Maine, but quickly retreated back down to Cape Cod where she helped build her husband's medical practice in 1983. On the Cape she volunteered at many local organizations including Independence House, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Marguerite E. Small Elementary School, Cape Cod Academy and Cap Cod Synagogue.

Jill had the rare gift of being able to speak forthrightly with a warm smile and a twinkle in her eye. She was an ardent supporter of women's rights especially their right of choice. Jill always believed she was the "luckiest girl in the world," and when she was diagnosed with cancer, she set herself a goal to "have fun every day." She lived up to her motto: "live life to the fullest."
