Momma Dee's Chili Cook-Off
My mother, Denice Funk, was inspiring to many people. You could always count on a laugh or two when having a conversation with her. Along with being a carpe diem enthusiast, she brought fun, excitement, and an artistic resonance to any situation. These characteristics would shine through daily, brightening everyone’s life around her.
In her honor, I have decided to start a chili cook-off competition, being that she had a knack for making a delicious chili and it showed with her many successful chili cook-off competitions.
My event is raising money in support of the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research. Pancreatic Cancer is the third-ranked cause of cancer related death in the US amongst both men and women.
Cancer has touched us all in some way; research for pancreatic cancer could hold the key to finding a cure for all cancers. Please make a donation and help us reach our fundraising goal.
