Riding for Bill; forever with us

This year I felt like a milestone was reached; my wonderful husband Bill died 10 years ago.
It is 2022 and life is not quite what we expected. The pandemic is winding down; climate change is wreaking havoc; and war is raging in Europe, claiming lives and disrupting global security. These are uncertain times. Hugging and supporting loved ones have never felt so urgent.
I have been riding in the Tour de Pier since its inception in 2013. Early that year I lost my dear sweet husband Bill to pancreatic cancer. Losing my best friend, love of my life and most awesome father of our three kids seemed incomprehensible. And then there was light.
The Tour provided support and encouragement when I needed it most. It felt very personal. At the time I don't think I fully appreciated the greater impact of the event. The money raised each year supports ground-breaking research to identify the causes of pancreatic cancer and rare brain tumors, facilitate early detection, extend the lives of those diagnosed, and to find a cure. I am eternally grateful for the support, encouragement and the continued opportunity to help in the fight against cancer.
Bill is forever with us. I ride to honor and celebrate his memory and to remember all those who fought so bravely.
Please consider contributing towards my fundraising efforts. Join me. Together we will continue making a huge difference.
