Welcome to My Personal Page

Why do I ride….it is about LIVING!
My story has not changed except more pages have been added.
My journey knowing about cancer started before I can remember, but what I can remember is that cancer needed to be cornered, tackled and attacked.
When I was 5, my father died of pancreatic cancer at the age of 38. No five year old child should endure the loss of such a young parent. When my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, I think I was numb to what it actually meant as I was in those invincible teen years. Her battle was fought with grace, strength and resilience. What I did come to realize is that I wanted to work with cancer in some capacity.
As time has gone on, I always understood my risks of having parents and grandparents who dealt with cancer. I also knew as I reached the age of 38 and saw my kids turn 5, every day was a gift to them that I did not have with my dad. I always felt that if I had a gene mutation, I would do whatever it took to be there for my husband, children and family.
So life is about LIVING! Living without fear! Living in the moment! Living for my husband, my children and my family! Living to grow old! Living to make my dad proud! Living for those who should not have to deal with cancer again! LIVING!
I’ll be riding in place to move charity forward at the 10th annual Tour de Pier with my family by my side. I will ride for those who were disgnosed in the last year, those who lost a loved one and those who I pray won't have to face hearing the word cancer said to them.
Tour de Pier brings hundreds of stationary cycling bikes to the iconic Manhattan Beach Strand to create awareness and raise funds for three outstanding cancer charities: Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, the Cancer Support Community of Redondo Beach and the Uncle Kory Foundation.
Please consider a contribution towards my fundraising efforts today. Together we can make a huge difference so that no one faces cancer alone. Let's ride in place and move charity forward!
