Here we go again!
Hello friends and family. We are days away from my 8th year in the LA Cancer Challenge! This year is going to be unlike any other yet. Because of Covid, we are doing a virtual walk. Our little team of marchers, runners, and walkers will be meeting together as a small yet effective group and will be walking to help raise funds and awareness about pancreatic cancer. And, yes, I will still be in those "sexy" purple & black striped tights and tutu. Thousands of us will be taking on this endeavor, as usual, but this year we won't have the constraints of needing to be local in order to participate. That means that people from far outside of our region can do their part to help. Each of us has our own inspiration, our own reason, our own motivation for being there and for trying so hard to raise money for and awareness about pancreatic cancer. My reasons are my stepdad, my aunt, and the future. And they are all a very big deal. What are your reasons?
The LACC helps the Hirshberg Foundation raise money to fund research and programs designed to improve patient care, offer better treatment options and, ultimately find a cure for pancreatic cancer.
Please consider contributing towards my fundraising efforts. Or, if you'd like, you can join us on October 25th in Long Beach for a lovely walk in a great neighborhood with amazing people, remembering those we have lost, and celebrating and honoring those who are currently dealing with this disease. Together we can make a huge difference in the battle against pancreatic cancer. I thank you with all of my heart...and my pancreas!
