Collin's 2023 Marathon Fundraising Page
On March 19, 2023, I will be running the LA Marathon as a part of the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Research's Team.
I completed my first Marathon in March of 2020 as part of the Hirshberg Training Team – Just 2 weeks before COVID completely disrupted our entire way of life. In retrospect, it’s pretty amazing that it wasn’t cancelled.
Thankfully the 2020 marathon went ahead as scheduled, and for that I’m so grateful as it forever changed my relationship with running. Like most, I don’t like running. It’s physically and mentally exhausting, and at times, downright unpleasant. But that’s why I love it. Running pushes you out of your comfort zone and forces you to challenge your preconceived notions of what you believe is possible. It tests your mind just as much as your body, and you are rewarded with a remarkable sense of pride and achievement when you successfully break through those mental and physical barriers.
It's an honor to run as part of the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Research Team, and to raise funds to fight back against a disease that impacts so many.
The statistics are grim, but with your help we have a chance to improve them. Pancreatic cancer is the #3 cancer killer in the United States amongst both men and women. Nine out of ten pancreatic cancer patients will die. The average life expectancy after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer is just 3-6 months. I would greatly appreciate your kind consideration by donating towards this goal.
Please donate today and help me to reach my fundraising goal of $1,000!
