Ride with Us!

We all know someone or have been personally impacted by Cancer. My 15 year-old son, Hudson, will be riding in place to move charity forward at the Tour de Pier! The Tour de Pier brings hundreds of stationary cycling bikes to the iconic Manhattan Beach Strand to create awareness and raise funds for three outstanding cancer charities: Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, the Cancer Support Community South Bay and the Uncle Kory Foundation.
This last year we unfortunately added my mother, Ginny, to the list of those impacted by cancer. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer last June, had surgery and intensive treatment. I am happy to say she is doing well and received amazing care at Swedish Cancer Institute in Seattle.
We lost our dad, Tom Haley, to pancreatic cancer in 2011 and our step-dad, Dave Kanigel, to brain cancer (Glioblastoma) in 2010.
One of my best friends is an amazing 17+ year survivor of a more rare-pancreatic cancer, neuroendocrine islet-cell cancer.
The list of those impacted by cancer is endless.
Please consider contributing towards my fundraising efforts today. Or if you'd like, you can join me for a day of fun at the beach, a great ride, remembering those we have lost and celebrating those who are currently battling this disease. Together we can make a huge difference so that no one faces cancer alone. Let's ride in place and move charity forward!
Thanks for your consideration,
Shannan and Hudson Whalen
