Please support me in the LA Cancer Challenge!
My family is participating in the LA Cancer Challenge! This October 18th marks 20 years since my dad, Paul Schur died just 4 short months after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Sadly pancreatic cancer remains one of the toughest cancers to treat or beat. My sister and I are grateful that our dad lived to share many happy milestones in our lives like graduating college and getting married as well as watching him become a "proud papa" to his 4 grandkids - Zoe, Jake, Garrett and Grant Paul - born just 2 months before he passed away at the age of 58. However he is forever missed - especially his sense of humor, love for all things sports and UCLA Bruins and just his general presence. Support from family and friends during that time and since then has been much appreciated. Many of you have had family or friends touched by this type of cancer or others.
The LACC helps the Hirshberg Foundation raise money to fund research and programs designed to improve patient care, offer better treatment options and, ultimately find a cure for pancreatic cancer.
Please consider contributing towards my fundraising efforts today. Or if you'd like, you can join our family in-person or virtually, for a day of costumes and fun, remembering those we have lost and celebrating those who are currently battling this disease. Together, regardless of where we are, we can make a huge difference in the battle against pancreatic cancer.
With love and gratitude,
Jody
