Help me take the LA Cancer Challenge!
This is for my father Norm and all the other Pancreatic Cancer Warriors......
In 2016, as most of you know, my father Norman was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. I am happy to report that at almost 86 years young (November), he is almost a 4 year Survivor! He is not slowing down (ok, just a little) and is determined to keep on going! During that difficult year in 2016, the great community of the LA Tri Club and some of its sponsors rallied around me and my family.
I am dedicating my first Ironman 70.3 race to my father Norman, to fellow triathlete and stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer survivor, Mike Levine, and to all Pancreatic Cancer Survivors battling this insidious disease including those who may have lost their valiant fight. If they can fight this horrible disease, than I can certainly finish an Ironman 70.3 race with a smile on my face as I proudly cross the finish line.
I believe that giving back is also an important part of being a Triathlete. For me, this means helping to find a cure for Pancreatic Cancer. My family and I owe a great deal to the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer and to the incredible doctors and staff at the Agi Hirshberg Center for Pancreatic Diseases at UCLA.
So...Here it comes....I usually ask you to support Carabet's Crew & LA Tri Club, (the team my brother, sister and I created for the LA Cancer Challenge in 2016.in the fall. We along with members of the LA Tri Club will be runnin & walking to help continue the
Give whatever you can, no matter how big or small, every penny counts. This is for you Dad, Mike and the rest of the courageous Pancreatic Cancer fighters!
I WILL NEVER GIVE UP!
Cheers & Thank-You,
Deb
