Please support me in the LA Cancer Challenge!
I am so excited to do this run, LA Cancer Challenge, again and support the Hirshberg Foundation focused on pancreatic cancer. I lost my sweetheart of a dad 13 years ago to this harsh diagnosis. It is such a deadly cancer because it is usually found too late and in a delicate area to treat.
Little did I know in 1997 when I helped my high school friend Jon Hirshberg with his first-ever Cancer Run I would be running for my dad 11 years later. I secured the bagel sponsor so we could all carbo-load after our run (bagels were a food group to me in my 20s). We have participated in this run at least 10 times, and the day is always uplifting and FUN! Our family is also running for my brother-in-law’s brother who is a very young 58 and uncle to my kiddos. He received the unimaginable news in May that he has pancreatic cancer and it still feels not possible.
This foundation does amazing work and I am forever grateful for the energy they have put into this tragic cause. They were tremendous to our family and a valuable resource to us when my dad was diagnosed. The money raised will fund research and programs designed to improve patient care, offer better treatment options and, ultimately find a cure for pancreatic cancer.
Please consider contributing to my fundraising efforts today. We would also love it if you can join us, in-person or virtually, for a day of costumes and fun, remembering those we have lost and celebrating those who are currently battling this disease. Thank you so much for any support.
