Welcome to Helane's Fundraising Page
My father, Douglas Paul Anderson, passed away from Pancreatic Cancer back in September 2007. A month after he passed, I had just moved to Los Angeles and ran in the Hirshberg Foundation 5K cancer challenge to raise money for this cause. My mother also continued to support this foundation in honor of him up until she passed in 2017.
I’ve talked about making this running commitment for many years and am finally doing it thanks to inspiration from my dear friends Jonathan Moerschel and Martin Fung who are a part of the team!
So on March 21, 2021 I will be running the Charity Challenge 1/2 half marathon in the LA Marathon as a part of the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Research's Team – the Hirshberg Training Team. We expect to log nearly 250 miles and I've committed to raise at least $1,000.
The statistics are grim, but with your help we have a chance to improve them. Pancreatic cancer is the #3 cancer killer in the United States amongst both men and women. Nine out of ten pancreatic cancer patients will die. The average life expectancy after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer is just 3-6 months. I would greatly appreciate your kind consideration by making a donation towards this goal.
Please make a donation today and help me to reach my fundraising goal and support this cause that is deep to my heart!
Love you all!
