The Don James Dawg Pack
Our team is so excited to be participating in the LA Cancer Challenge. The LACC helps the Hirshberg Foundation raise money to fund research and programs designed to improve patient care, offer better treatment options and, ultimately find a cure for pancreatic cancer. This year the race is virtual, but we still want you to join team Don James Gang for this great cause.
The Don James Dawg Pack is named for the national-championship winning coach at the University of Washington, Don James aka the Dawgfather. Coach James lost his battle with pancreatic cancer in 2013 and for the past few years, Southern California Huskies and friends have walked in his memory at this event.
Even if you are not a Husky, we want you to join us in supporting the Don James Dawg Pack in helping to battle this awful disease. When the Don James Gang walks/runs, we do so for everyone who was diagnosed with this disease, including such notable people as Alex Trebek who is currently fighting this disease and Congressman John Lewis who lost his battle to it this past summer.
For those in the Los Angeles area who might want to walk with other team members, we are a planning to meet at the Rose Bowl on October 25, 2020 at 8:30 a.m. and participate in a socially-distanced 3.1 walk around the stadium. If you are not in Los Angeles, don't feel comfortable walking/running with others (even if we are masked-up and socially distanced), or just don't want to get up early on Sunday morning, the beauty of a virtual run, is you can do the walk anywhere or anytime. So, join us.
Together we can make a huge difference in the battle against pancreatic cancer.
Thank you for your support and GO DAWGS!
