Help me raise funds for pancreatic cancer research!
Cancer has been an unwelcome member of our family in recent years. First, my step-mom Kathy was taken from us after a fight against breast cancer about 9 years ago. Then Mine, my mother in law, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 3 years ago and miraculously made a full recovery - the Hirshberg Foundation had much to do with her success. The following year my mom was diagnosed with a rare form of stomach cancer and lost her battle within months. Shortly after that, Mine's cousin Ida was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer that was so similar to Mine's, but unfortunately her recovery story was not the same and we lost her just before Christmas. Then just this year my grandpa lost his life after a slow decline from stomach cancer.
It is for all these people who I've loved and most of whom I've lost that I'm participating in the LA Cancer Challenge at UCLA! The LACC helps the Hirshberg Foundation raise money to fund research and programs designed to improve patient care, offer better treatment options and, ultimately find a cure for pancreatic cancer.
Please consider contributing towards my fundraising efforts today. Or if you'd like, you can join me for a day of costumes and fun, remembering those we have lost and celebrating those who are currently battling this disease. Together we can make a huge difference in the battle against pancreatic cancer.
