Help me take the LA Cancer Challenge!
Friends and Family,
As some of you may know, my late father, Sol Meller, passed away on November 30th, 2015 as a result of pancreatic cancer. While it is true that all cancers are awful, pancreatic cancer is among the deadliest due to the fact that it is so difficult to detect during its early stages. Pancreatic cancer causes few symptoms and when they emerge, it’s often when the cancer is no longer curable through any treatments. This was the case with my father - once he was diagnosed and although he fought like hell, it was too late. Therefore, more research into the causes, diagnosis, and treatment of pancreatic cancer is imperative if we want to save more lives from ending prematurely due to this devastating disease.
On October 25th, the #FeldmarFamily will be participating in one of SoCal’s largest fundraising events benefiting pancreatic cancer research, the LA Cancer Challenge Walk/Run. While we won’t be able to gather in person together this year, the Cancer Challenge is going virtual across the country! Team Sol Meller will be walking in a 5K route around our neighborhood, which will start and end at the storefront of our flagship location on Pico Blvd. We will be live-streaming the entire event, so friends and family are invited to participate virtually!
You can make a difference by signing up to join Team Sol Meller, making a donation, and encouraging friends and family to participate in the virtual event. Our goal is to raise more than last year (and last year our team was among the top 5 in fund raising!) toward pancreatic cancer research. This year, your act of kindness and compassion will also automatically enroll you in the raffling of Luminox prizes, including a limited edition Bear Grylls timepiece branded with his motto, “Never Give Up!”
On behalf of Sol, this is an opportunity to fight back against pancreatic cancer. I hope to see your name on my team roster or donor list!
Sincerely,
Scott Meller
