Michael Gussman- Marvin's Marvels Team Captain
Because I was just a baby when my Grandpa Marvin passed away from pancreatic cancer, this event is something I have participated in for my whole life. Since 2008 when my family established Marvin’s Marvels in his memory, the LA Cancer Challenge has become a really special day. I want to support pancreatic cancer research and I hope you will too.
The 2020 LACC will be virtual. That means you could take a stroll or jog in your neighborhood, run a 5K on your treadmill, count your steps walking at home or (if local and state guidelines allow) select a park or path where you can walk or run. The Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer research will be having a nationwide virtual walk, we can virtually walk from anywhere! The virtual event will be Sunday October 25th .
For many of us a big part of LACC is the chance to spend some leisure time together, say hello and catch-up while enjoying the exercise and outdoors. For our family it has always been a day that we looked forward to visiting with everyone and their families.
This year, because we cannot physically be together, we are planning a Marvin’s Marvels Zoom Bingo Night, 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, October 17th. All team members and donors to Marvin’s Marvels will be emailed two bingo cards (that can be used in all 5 games) and a chance to win some great prizes! In addition, we will be handing out some fun props in advance so you can show your support to pancreatic cancer research and your Marvin’s Marvels spirit! More information on how to play Zoom Bingo will be forthcoming.
Thank you very much,
Marvin's Marvels Captain 2019
