Welcome to my Personal Page
In 2017, my uncle, William McCarthy, passed away from pancreatic cancer. Uncle Bill was a kind man and a committed educator, and he was always ready to make you smile with the perfect joke or a sound piece of advice, often in the same conversation. In honor of my uncle, I have decided to run the LA Marathon on March 8th, 2020, as a part of the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Research's Training Team. I expect to log nearly 250 miles and I've committed to raise at least $1,000. Every dollar counts towards improving outcomes for those who live with this disease and their families.
The statistics are grim, but with your help we have a chance to improve them. Pancreatic cancer is the #3 cancer killer in the United States amongst both men and women. The disease has a five-year survival rate of just 9%, regardless of stage at diagnosis. The average life expectancy after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer is 3-6 months. My family and I would greatly appreciate your kind consideration by making a donation towards this goal.
Please make a donation today and help me to reach my fundraising goal!
