FEL & TEAM ONE LOVE
As many of you know I started 2019 with a diagnosis of Testicular Cancer. After 2 successful surgeries and a modified cycle of chemotherapy, I now have favorable results from x-rays, a CT scan, and blood labs ... all showing I’m currently CANCER-FREE! The journey isn’t over, as we’ll monitor over the next few years to be sure cancer doesn’t show its ugly face again... in the mean time I’m working on mentally and physically getting back into shape after the big surgery back in April. Snowboarding is my winter sport and for the past 10 years cycling has been my summer sport. I’ve been itching to get on the bike, but the fear of a crash and potentially aggravating the surgery incision site has kept me grounded. Once I heard about Tour de Pier Seattle I immediately wanted to ride! I’m a sucker for participating in inaugural events. I’m a sucker for many things cycling. and I’m a sucker for celebrating fighting and beating cancer alongside survivors and others currently in their journey.
On September 14th, I'll be riding in place to move charity forward. I’m captaining ONE LOVE 3, as part of the TEAM ONE LOVE bike family. The Tour de Pier brings hundreds of stationary cycling bikes to Lake Union Park for five, energetically themed hour-long rides to create awareness and raise funds for three outstanding cancer charities: Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, the Virginia Mason Cancer Institute and the Uncle Kory Foundation.
Please consider contributing towards my fundraising efforts today. Or if you'd like, join me for an inspirational ride to remember those we have lost and celebrate those who are currently battling cancer. Together we can make a huge difference so that no one faces cancer alone. Let's ride in place and move charity forward. #FPfightsTC ... let’s fight cancer, together! onelove.
