Erin Rides for Team Go Fisch!
Leslie and I met through a mutual friend when we were seniors in high school. We had both gotten into UCLA and decided to get together before moving in with 30,000 other people. We ended up going through rush together, joining the same sorority, doing a lot of things I can't write here, laughing, crying, attending each other's weddings and baby showers, and traveling to girls trips where we did, well, a lot of things I can't write here.
We remained side by side when Leslie was diagnosed with pancreas cancer July 3, 2013. We have sat together at doctors' appointments, chemo treatments, and hospitals but more importantly, have continued to celebrate milestones like our children's Bat Mitzvahs and have traveled for girls trips, which I STILL can't write about here!
On May 15, 2016 I'll be cycling for Leslie, her family, and lots of others I've never met at the 4th annual Tour de Pier. The Tour de Pier brings hundreds of stationary cycling bikes to the iconic Manhattan Beach Strand to create awareness and raise funds for three outstanding cancer charities: Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, the Cancer Support Community of Redondo Beach and the Uncle Kory Foundation.
Please consider contributing towards my fundraising efforts today. I have never seen firsthand anyone braver or more determined than our Leslie. Together we can make a huge difference so neither Leslie nor anyone else faces cancer alone. Thank you!
