Judith's Journey to #RideOn!!
Dear Friends and Family,
This year, I am so grateful to be celebrating 30 YEARS of being cancer free after a diagnosis of Stage IV cancer in 1999. With the help of my family and friends, physicians and "The Wellness Community - South Bay Cities" (now Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach), I made it through the worst year of my life.
In 1994, I was honored to be selected as the Executive Director/CEO of Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach. After 24 years, I transitioned to a part-time position for over a year as Director of Legacy and Planned Gifts to help raise funds for the future for our priceless programs. Another clebration ... 25 YEARS this May as a Director of an organization that has not only helped me ... but thousands of cancer patients and their loved ones (completely free of charge) for over 32 years!
I have registered to participate in a unique fundraising event called the Ride the Nite. An elite group of cyclists will be riding stationary bikes on The Strand overlooking the Manhattan Beach Pier during sunset. I want to increase my impact by raising donations through sponsorship.
I want to do as much as I possibly can to help support the three charities involved: the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, the Uncle Kory Foundation and the Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach. I hope you will consider supporting my efforts by making a donation online to my personal fundraising page.
I also want to ride in honor and memory of my two brothers, Jerry and John Johansen, who have both died from this horrible disease.
Many thanks to you in advance - now let's #RideOn!
