Help me take the LA Cancer Challenge!
My brother Randy is a doctor who, besides seeing patients, also does research in pancreatic cancer. Last month, he receved an award for his amazing work from the National Pancreas Foundation and I couldn't be a prouder sister.
It was my brother's work that brought me to participate in the Hirshberg Foundation 5k several years ago. Originally, I was running/walking on behalf of my brother's patients. Now, I also walk on behalf of so many people who are currently battling or lost their fight to this disease. This includes the legendary UW coach at my alma mater, Don James who lost his battle 6 years ago. It also includes my friends and their families who have, or have watched, loved ones battle this disease. I feel like my fundraising and participating is something I can do to help erradicate this horrible disease.
So, I'm participating in the LA Cancer Challenge at UCLA! The LACC helps the Hirshberg Foundation raise money to fund research and programs designed to improve patient care, offer better treatment options and, ultimately find a cure for pancreatic cancer.
Please consider contributing towards my fundraising efforts today. Or if you'd like, you can join me for a day of costumes and fun, remembering those we have lost and celebrating those who are currently battling this disease. Together we can make a huge difference in the battle against pancreatic cancer.
