Help me Run Pancreatic Cancer OUT OF TOWN!!!
My dear friend Lupe Romero passed away from Pancreatic Cancer on February 2, 2019. I will be dedicating my run this year for the LA Marathon Charity Challenge on March 24, 2019 to her. This is a picture of Lupe wearing my finisher's medal that I gave her from last year, Lupe was a runner but was unable to run due to her PC symptoms.
You probably know that I love to run - once a year my running is for a cause - I run the LA Marathon with the Hirshberg Training Team to raise funds for Pancreatic Cancer research and to honor two amazing men - Ron Hirshberg and Paul A Hughes. Ronnie was my mentor and the namesake of The Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research; Husband of my dear friend Agi and Father of Jonathan Hirshberg (my Boss and Mentor) and Lisa Hirshberg. Mr. Hughes is the Father of my dear friend Teri Hughes Fox - he was founder of the Hughes Market chain and a Papal Knight. Both were taken from us too soon by Pancreatic Cancer. Lupe will now be added to this list.
So, I will ask for your support/donation of my run to fund Pancreatic Cancer Research. If you ever wondered what you could do for Martin, what present you could give to Uncle Marty, what would Martin want - a donation to my run is the answer! A donation of any amount to my Marathon webpage will directly fund cancer research.
The statistics are grim, but with your help we have a chance to improve them. Pancreatic cancer is the #3 cancer killer in the United States amongst both men and women. Nine out of ten pancreatic cancer patients will die. The average life expectancy after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer is just 3-6 months.
Please donate today and help me to reach my fundraising goal!
Many thanks in advance!
XO Martin XO
