This year, the Hirshberg Foundation celebrates its 20th anniversary. Starting on July 1, 2017, exactly 20 years to the day that Agi wrote her letter, the Hirshberg Foundation will be recognizing a growing number of supporters who, like Agi, won’t give up until we find a cure for pancreatic cancer. There are countless reasons why each of us have committed to see this fight through, whether it’s on behalf of a loved one, because we don’t want to see other families suffer, or because you want to live in a world that is cancer free. Dear Bill,
As of July 1 ‘97 “the Ronald S. Hirshberg Memorial Foundation” has been incorporated, I.R.S. identification established and an account has been opened and funded.
I hope the speed of which this was accomplished conveys the seriousness of my commitment to fund research for pancreatic cancer.
If I was starting a business, I would study my competition, find a possible opening in the marketplace and go after that opening with full vengeance committed to succeed. I would hire the best talent to ensure winning.
I am committed to UCLA, Dr. Reber and yourself as the team. Without your guidance I cannot take the next step and by now you may realize that patience is not one of my virtues.
I understand that each party involved in this project has a great deal to gain but quite honestly my only concern is that “cancer gains” with the effort our group will contribute.
